Pot-Limit Omaha: PLO Drawing Hands

PLO is known as a "drawing game" because players frequently have multiple draws to improve their hands.

Types of Draws in PLO

Flush Draws:

  • • Nut flush draw (with ace)
  • • Second nut flush draw
  • • Backdoor flush draws

Straight Draws:

  • • Open-ended straight draws
  • • Gutshot straight draws
  • • "Wrap" draws (13+ outs)

Combo Draws

The most powerful PLO hands combine multiple draws: flush draw + straight draw + pair for full house outs. These "combo draws" can have 15-20+ outs to improve!

Blockers in PLO

"Blockers" are cards in your hand that prevent opponents from having certain hands. For example, holding the ace of hearts blocks opponents from having the nut flush draw in hearts.
